Leading technical support and installation company Paragon Data Services is delighted to have been recognised for its work in conjunction with a Hull City Council initiative to increase the number of people entering into a career in the engineering industry.
East Yorkshire-based Paragon Data Services (PDS), has officially been awarded the Preferred Apprenticeship Training Partner Award by Hull Tec, for its commitment to providing training opportunities for young people.
PDS, which was established in 1996, specialises in the installation, repair and maintenance service of network cabling and AV display solutions, as well as supplying interactive white boards and projectors for multi-media training and education, tele-communications systems for commercial organisations and network CCTV.
Hull Tec has been working closely with representatives from the local engineering and manufacturing industry to provide training to people in Hull since 1985. PDS was delighted to be approached by Hull Tec as an industry training partner, in February 2006, and is committed to continuing the relationship in years to come.
Within the last year, PDS – which works from its headquarters in Wyke Street, east Hull – has taken on board one trainee member of Hull Tec in order to develop their skills and knowledge of the network cabling and AV display solutions industry.
Luke Thompson has just completed the first stage of his apprenticeship, which was recognised in a prestigious awards ceremony with Alan Johnson MP.
Iain Bland, managing director at PDS, said: “Providing learning opportunities for young people and investing into the local workforce is vital for the industry’s future growth within the region.
“We have been extremely impressed by the level of enthusiasm, professionalism and dedication, which has been demonstrated throughout by the trainees we have taken on board.”
Hull Tec has praised PDS for its dedication to the training scheme. George Machin, Workplace Development Team Leader, said: “Thanks to support of organisations such as PDS, Hull Tec can offer the opportunity for trainees to gain qualifications and experience that will help drive business’s forward.
“Training a new generation of skilled employees shows excellent planning and will help specialist industries secure their future and achieve long term ambitions in the marketplace. PDS is to be congratulated on its commitment to training the industry professionals of tomorrow.
“Hull Tec is delighted to award PDS with the Preferred Apprenticeship Training Partner Award, demonstrating our belief in the company and making it one of the first choices for learner placement.”
